My <a href=\"http:\/\/www.glamdring.org\/wp\/archives\/2004\/09\/27\/surgery-tomorrow\/\">surgery last year<\/a> has had <a href=\"http:\/\/www.glamdring.org\/wp\/archives\/2004\/12\/06\/full-recovery\/\">wonderful results<\/a>, so I have no more excuses for not getting back into shape.<\/p>\n<p>For those of you who didn&#8217;t know, my surgery was due to an cyst that I had that first got infected my senior year of high school during track season.  Even though the initial infection was taken care of, it was always susceptible to a recurrence, especially anytime I put stress on the area at the base of my back.  After that, anytime I started some sort of an exercise program, it would get reinfected.  So I stopped exercising.  And put on 100 lb in 10 years.<\/p>\n<p>So, now that the root is gone, I&#8217;m back in the gym.  Today, I walked a mile and biked for 5, and I feel great.  I&#8217;m putting myself back on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fourmilab.ch\/hackdiet\/\">Hacker Diet<\/a>, and my goal is to play competitive soccer again.  My coworker, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xanga.com\/home.aspx?user=k00k123\">Bill<\/a> is going to be exercising with me, so we&#8217;ll be able to commiserate together.<\/p>\n<p>So, in order to keep you all sufficiently annoyed, I&#8217;ve created a new diet category, and you will all get to experience my pain.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve decided to lose some weight.
